The Community Service Fellows program represents a select group of students who exhibit outstanding community service and leadership skills. With this scholarship, these students are expected to maintain these standards and continue their service in the New Orleans community. In return, the Center for Public Service will provide scholars with resources, prompt response to needs, guidance as needed and the best effort to provide an engaging, fun, and inspiring experience.
The program requires maintaining a GPA above 2.7, attending monthly group meetings, participating in days of service each semester, and completing an average of 100 service and leadership hours each year. Through scholars’ participation, we hope to gain valuable insight from the opportunities to be a dynamic leader, community advocate, and service ambassador. It is our commitment that we gain an in-depth understanding of poverty, community development, and how one may address a variety of social issues.
